Soil and mulch weights vary significantly by material and moisture content. Dry mulch is very light (0.25–0.4 tons/cy) while wet topsoil can approach 1.1 tons/cy. Our calculator uses typical dry-weight averages — actual delivered weight may vary. When in doubt, call dispatch and we can help estimate the right number of loads.

Delivery Requirements & Site Access
Before Your Delivery Arrives
- Gate or entrance wide enough for a dump truck
- Delivery area has stable, dry ground
- Remove parked vehicles and obstructions
- Check for low tree limbs, power lines, carports, and roof overhangs
- Mark the preferred dump location clearly
- Avoid septic systems, drain fields, irrigation lines, and soft ground
- Enough room for the truck to turn around or safely back in

- Confirm material, quantity, and delivery address
- Dispatch schedules the correct truck
- Driver confirms safe access on arrival
- Material is dumped in the agreed location when conditions allow
